00CKET N0. 50-366 Georgia Power Company ATTN: Mr. Charles F. Whitmer Vice President - Engineering P.O. Box 4545 Atlanta, Georgia 30302 Gentlemen:
We have received a copy of each of the following items your Company filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (ONRR) for review:
1.
Letter dated October 10, 1980, trarsmitting a test confirmation report on Seismic Qualification of Generator Static Exciter Cabinet.
2.
Letter dated October 17, 1980, requesting Technical Specification changes for Cycle 2 operation with Reload 1 fuel inserted in the core.
A fee pursuant to 10 CFR Part 170.22 did not accompany item 1 above, but a Class III fee of $4,000 was received with item 2 above.
Based on information provided by the ONRR staff as a result of a preliminary review of each of the above items, it has been determined that:
a.
Item 1 requires ONRR staff review and approval which is considered to involve a single safety issue and requires a Class III fee of 54,000.
b.
Item 2 involves three separate safety issues in that a reanalysis of the Minimum Critical Power Ratio as required by license condition 2.C(3)(c) has to be performed; the Boiling Transition data required by license condition 2.C(3)(d) has'to be reviewed; and a fuel type not specifically included in the NRR approved version of NEDE-24011P has to be considered. Therefora, this application requires three Class III fees totalling $12,000.
In consideration of the above and pursuant to 10 CFR 170, it is requested that your Company remit a total of $12,000 to this office. This amount includes 54,000 for item 1 and an additional $8,000 for item 2 above. Although 10 CFR hW I
Georgia Pcwer Company --
170.22 categori:es several Class III's as recuiring a Class IV fee, it is our policy to enarse up to three Class III's as sing'le Class III's anc not as a Class IV.
For this reason, item 2 is not classified as recuiring a Class IV fee.
If the final resiew of your application by the CNRR staff reveals that these fees are incorrect, an adjust:nent will be made.
Sincerely, U;;cf. C. James Neasusy.,4,.
