FIRST INTERIM REPORT

-Description of Deficiency

. During the review of qualification records for electrical equipment

. quired by NUREG-0588,.a number of components were identified as-having inadequate documentation to verify their qualification levels for the harsh environments resulting from abnormal or accicent conditions at the plant. The affected equipment includes miscellaneous temperature switches, pressure switches,. flow meters, f

flow transmitters. radiation. monitoring ele =e.Ls, and solenoid valves in various plant systems. The subject components are. identified below:

-146B Interim Progress At present, documentation to prove this equipmer.t will operate satisfactorily in the harsh environment postulated during a high energy line break (HELB) or loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) has not been located.

TVA is still gathering environmental quslification documentation on these components from their vendors. When data is not available, analyses are being performed by TVA to establish 'the ' qualification levels of the components.
