This refers to our letter of October 17, 1980, and the telephone discussions between Mr. J. Golden of your staff and Mr. C. Paperiello of this office on l
October 16 and 17, 1980, and between Mr. Bitel of your staff and Mr. Davis of this office on October 16, 1980.
At that time your staff agreed to perform well water sampling and analysis at various locations around Dresden Station.
These locations would include:
a well at the Dresden Lock and Dam; a well at the southeast corner of the site; and two wells in a housing development across the Kankakee River from the plant.
Mr. Golden requested the name and addresses of individuals whose wells might be sampled in the housing development. A list of individuals in this develop-ment who have contacted the NRC to request their wells be sampled is attached.
Analyses will be performed for gross alpha, gross beta, and tritium. Samples will be obtained monthly for three months and then quarterly for three quarters.
The first round of sampling should begin as soon as possible.
If our understanding of the above agreement with your staff is not correct, please notify us.
Please inform us of the location of the two wells in the housing development you chose to sample.
