to 10 CFR 50.46, a revised ECCS analysis ( }, performed in Pursuant accordance with Appendix K, was submitted to the Directorate of Licensing on July 31, 1974. Please note that typographical errors on pages 411:08 and 411:18 of that submittal have been corrected, and the revised pages are enclosed with this letter. In performing the analysis it was decided that a minimum of 700 cubic feet of water available in the safety injection accumulator tank would be needed to provide assurance of compliance with Appendix K ECGS Criteria. This represented a change from the previously assumed 600 ft Exami-nagionofTechnicalSpecificationsrevealedanapparentminimumof650 l ft avgilable. However, a performance analysis revealed that at least 700 ft would be available for safety injection provided the accumulator is maintained in accordance with Technical Specifications. Thus, the accumulator inventory used in the revised ECCS analysis is consistent with Technical Specifications. The revised analysis was performed assuming a peak linear heat generation rate of 13.06 kw/ft rather than the design value of 12.9 kw/ft. Although results show compliance with Appendix K ECCS criteria, the Technical Speci-fication limit of 12.9 kw/ft was retained in order to satisfy the requirements of the facility safety analysis. Thus, no new proposed Technical Specifications were submitted pursuant to Section 50.46 and the Yankee Nuclear Power Station continued operation within the limits of existing Technical Specifications. 8011250/ k 1.L377
