Dear Sir:
Pursuant to Section 50.59 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations, Yankee Atomic Electric Company hereby proposes the following modifications to Appendix A of the Operating License.
PROPOSED CHANGE: Reference is made to the Operating License No. DPR-3 issued to tankee Atomic Electric Company for the Yankee Rowe plant. We propose to amend the license as follows:
Modify Specification 5.6.1 (attached) of Appendix A to the Operating License to include information about spent fuel storage recently approved by NRC as Amendment No. 33 to the Operating License (Reference 2).
REASON FOR CHANGE: The purpose of this change is to add information about spent fuel storage to the Technical Specifications. At the present time this information is contained in Section 218 of the Final Hazards Summary Report.
If this information is added to Specification 5.6.1 then the Technical Specifications become an entirely self supporting body of infor-mation with no reliance upon other documents except for the Operating License.
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS: This proposed change is a consolidation of information required to be in the Operating License. This change does not endanger the health and safety of the public. This proposed change has been reviewed by the Nuclear Safety Audit and Review Committee.
