This refers to your request dated May 19, 1964, for AEC authorization of Proposed Change No. 56 in the Technical Specifications of Facility License No. DPR-3 pursuant to the provisions of Section 50.59, 10 CFR 50. The proposed change would permit installation of a protective circuit to trip the turbine throttle valves upon coincident indication of low water level in each of the four steam generators. Existing protective circuitry scrams the reactor when the turbine is tripped at loads above 15 MWe.
We have reviewed the Proposed Change and have found that it does not present significant hazards considerations not described or implicit in the hazards summary report, and that there is reasonable assurance that the health and safety of the public will not be endangered. A copy of our.
related hazards analysis is enclosed.
In view of the fo:egoing, Change Na 56 is hereby authorized as proposed pursuant to Seccion 50.59, 10 CFR 50.
