tive date of the guide is September 1,1974. It describes the features of an acceptable program for inservice inspection of steam generator tubing and provides guidance to licensees regarding implementation of an acceptable schedule for inservice inspection. It also states that other

programs of inspection proposed by applicants and licensees may be deter-cined to be acceptable if they provide a comparable level of inspection.

's Paragraph D.4 of the guide states that technical specifications for assuring inspection and reporting as recomended in the guide should be F
incorporated in operating licenses as soon as practical. Accordinply, ybu are requested to sub=it, as soon as practical before Novetaber 12, 1974, a proposed change to your technical specifications, in the form of an application for license amendment, establishing requirements for a program of steam generator tube inspection and the reporting of results.
