'Ihis refers to your request dated January 4,1968, for AEC authorization of Proposed Change Ib. 80 in the Technical Specifications of Facility License No. DPR-3 pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 50.59. 'Ihe proposed change would authorize the substitution of one electrically-operated control valve, to be used as a variable orifice, for the three fixed orifices and the mnually-operated block valves in the bleed line of the Charging and Volute Control System of the Yankee Nuclear Power Station.
We have mviewed the proposed change and have found that it does not pm-sent significant hazards considemtions not described or implicit in the hazards sunrrary report, ard that there is reasonable assurance that the health and safety of the public will not be endangered. A mpy of our related safety evaluation is enclosed.
In view of the foregoing, pursuant to Section 50.59, 10 CFR Part 50, Change Ib. 80 is hereby authorized as proposed.
