This refers to your request dated August 31, 1966, for AEC authorization of Proposed Change No. 73 in the Technical Speci-fications of Facility License No. DPR-2 for the Yankee reactor pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 50.59.
The proposed change would authorize the ins tallation of twenty-four inconel-clad, silver-indium-cadmium control rods with zircaloy follower sections that are welded to the control rods.
I We have reviewed the proposed change and have found that it does not present significant hazards considerations not described or implicit in the hazards sumnary report, and that there is rea-sonable assurance that the health and safety of the public will not be endangered. A copy of our related safety evaluation is enclosed.
In view of the foregoing, pursuant to Section 30.59, 10 CFR 50, Change No. 73 is hereby authorized as proposed.
