Dear Sirs:

C

@7-di Since the original subciission of Proposed Change No.11 cover-ing provisions for the irradiation of a number of reactor vessel material specitens, we have found it necessary to modify the arrangement and location of the neutron detectors which are incorporated in the design of the special tube assemblies.

The modified arrangement now provides for a capsule type detector installed within the support tube of the specimen assemblies. The capsule will contain, as did the originally conceived detector holder, materials of varying threshold energy values which yield data valuable in the evaluation of specimen neutron exposures.

The attached Amendment No. 36 to the license application, dated February 9,1962, accompanies this supplement to Che. ige Ue.11 in order to bring up to date certain information previcur.ly subuitted us.ner An.endment No. 34, dated December 6, 1961.

Incorporation of the appropriate new or superseding pages sup-plied with Amendments 34 and 36 in Section 230 of the Final Hazards Sumary Report will ref M t the actual design of the irradiation specimens arid neutron detectors.

Respectfully submitted, YA!!KEE ATO. TIC ELECTRIC COAPANY v a 4 k' Art Roger. Coe, V,1ce President 3
