With reference to your letter dated January 18, 1973 relative to an inspection conducted by Mr. Oberg at Yankee Rcwe on Dece=ber 11-15, 1972, Yankee Atomic Electric Co=pany offers the following reply to Item No.~2 of the violation:

The brass fittings were removed from the low pressure safety injection pump on December 19, 1972 and shall be replaced with fittings that comply with ANSI B31.7.

A plant management directive has been issued to s
j re-establish the require =ents for conformance with applicable codes, regulatory requirements and quality assurance requirements.
