Dear Mrs. Brenner:
Your letter, dated April 8,1980, to the attention of the Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Comission alleging drunkeness of employees at the Pilgrim Nuclear power Plant was given to me for response. The Nuclear Regulatory Comission has the responsibility to ensure that licensees that own Nuclear powr plants maintain and operate them safely. The NRC currently has an inYestigation of similar allegations underway to ~ detemine if such activities existed at the plant and whether there has been an adverse effect upon hfety of operations. The investigation - sill be completed rad a detemination made of the needed enforcement actions before operations are resumed from the current outage. We will infom you of the results of the investigation and of any enforcement actions detamined to be ne:essary as soon as this infoma.; ion is available. Thank.pu for expressing your concerns.
