NARRATIVE

REPORT Georgia Power Company Plant E. I. Ilatch Baxley, Georgia 31513 Reportable Occurance Report No. 50-366/1980-116 On August 2, 1980 with the Unit at steady state power operation an observation of the Torus Temperature Recorder indicated that Torus water temperature was 96 F.

This temperature was related to the extreme heat of the environment in the Reactor Building. Operators initiated Torus cooling by means of the RHR System and had the Torus water temperature within Tech.

g Specs. limits of less than 95 F. within three and a half hours.

This is a non-repetitive occurrence.
