Dear Mr. Collins:
I was recently contacted by one of the organizers of a pro-nuclear group in Middletown.
It was gratifying to hear that there are people in faver of nuclear energy in this town.
I was unable to attend the March 31 Borough Council meeting, but I would like to express my views.
My husband is employed by Met-Ed at TUI and we have lived in this area for ten years.
After all the anti-nuke forces were making the -
solves heard over the week-end of March 28th, I really felt that it was time to encourage ay husband to apply for employzent at another powe,r plant and we could pick up and, leave this area.
Everyone has a Constitutional ri6ht to voice their opinion, but as being directly involved with a controversy--it sometimes wears you down.
We've kept our "c'hins up" for a year now but I could wager that many employees wives feel as the lady who wrote the enclosed " sound off" column from the very bias Press and Journal.
Ia very thankful that there was no violence at the plant entrance on March 28 and that the mass rally was held in Harrisburg and not in our 11:ediate area.
What I am really concerned about is the poor public image Met-Ed has and even the NRC.
how can we improve public relations?
I would be very much interested in working with the newly forced pro-nuclear group in this respect or with the NRC, if need be.
