= 5 SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE TO IE INSPECTION REPORT 50-269/79-25, -270/79-23, -287/79-25 KEY CONTROL The following steps will be taken to help ensure positive control of locked high radiation areas:
1.
Individually keyed locks will be installed on all permanent high radia-tion area doors to replace the present common keyed locks.
2.
The Health Physics section will issue keys to all personnel (except Opera-tions personnel as noted belew). Each key will unlock only one door.
Health Physics will also issue master keys to HP surveillance personnel as necessary.
3.
Appropriate Operations personnel will be permanently issued master keys which will unlock all high radiation area doors, with the exception of certain areas having higher radiation. These limited areas will have keyed access controlled by Health Physics.
4.
Operations personnel will contact the appropriate Health Physics person-nel before entering high radiation areas unless an emergency exists.
Health Physics will log all area entries by Operations personnel.
5.
Audits of all keys will be performed by Health Physics and Operations every six months.
All of the items listed above will be implemented by March 1, 1980.
