Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
The. Sacramento Municipal Utility, District has reviewed your letter of September ) 15,1930, clarifying requirements and providing a schedule for the implementation of TMI Action. Plan ;itens. :. We have some' serious concerns regarding these require.
- ments an.d wish to provide:the' following coninents for your consideration before
'this clarification is finalized.- Ilt': appears that' the requirements lhave not been' coordinated or integrated.with each cther. Each task. is. addressed. individually and its effect on other tasks or systems does not appear to have been considered.1This presents serious sche-duling problems. since in. many instances the design effort'on 'other. tasks must be completed before a givenl task can be' implemented. For' example, many of these iroquirements; result in a modification adding instruments and. controls in the control, room.3 This wi11'probably require a significant. redesign of the. entire ~ - control room with the addition of'a. number of Class.I: panels'. ~ LThisiactivity cannot-be-accomplished =until:a' majority. of_ the TMI. modification' work has been ' .j engineered.: ~.. 3 7 [L _ 2. , )Many 0f these: requirements'significantly increase the^ demand on-Class I power.- 1.supplie~s.1 0ur studies >to:date' indicate that we wiil.have~to add two' additional dieselcpowere,d generators to'our emergency power-supply system. Our.present-6' 7
- best estimate 1 for delivery of these diesel: generators is twenty months: after 12
' ?issuancel of a. purchase' order..Since the detailed requirements:for. these units. Nw. . have not been? determined.at this. time, these units will not' be'available for C ? _Minsta11ation' in iless.than '24 to 30 nonths from this date. F .4i a- .L ..p' y, 's' .l e 1 ~ io w n
