Based on discussions with NRC Staff Personnel, concerns were expressed with regard to certain Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 2 licensing issues.

Attached is Alabama Power Company's position for a Unit 2 reactor vessel level measurement system. This position has been discussed with the NRC Staff and is believed by Alabama Power Company to satisfy the Staff's concern.

development basis. The development of a permanent system for j

installation in Units 1 and 2 is scheduled to be completed by 1

January 1982 (as shown in Table 1).

To obtain additional' correlating data, Alabama Power Company will install one pair of neutron detectors with pre-a=plifier on Unit 2 by January 1,1981..
