Dear Mr. Denton:
Duke Power Company is filing herewith Amendment No. 65 to its Application for Licenses for the McGuire Nuclear Station which is under construction pursuant to Construction Permits CPPR-83 and.-84.
This filing includes three signed original copies of the amendment with attachments entitled, " Revision 40 to the Final Safety Analysis Report"and Revision 3 to Report No. MDS/PDG-77-1 5
" Evaluation of the Effects of Postulated Pipe Failures Outside Containment for McGuire Nuclear Station". This filing also includes 15 additional con-formed copies of the amendment with an additional 45 copies of Revision 40 to the Final Safety Analysis Report and 22 copies of Revision 3 to Report No. MDS/PDG-77-1.
The purpose of Amendment 65 is to update the license application with Revision 40 to the Final Safety Analysis Report and Revision 3 to Report No. MDS/PDG-77-1.
Copies of this Amendment 65 have been distributed in accordance with the requirements of Part 2.101 of the Commission's regulations and the instruc-tions contained in Mr. Roger S. Boyd's letter of August 6,1976.
