Your letter of October 6,1971, to President Nixon has been referred to m fbr reply. Enclosed is a smmey of the present status of the application of Consumers Power Ccupany for permits to construct the proposed Mr11nnd Nuclear Power Plant. 'Ihis was prepared in order to permit a tim ly response to a number of inquiries we have received conceming the plant.
I ar sure you are quite f=111e with the issues involved in the ap-plication, and the chronology of events to date. You my not know, however, that the Atomic Energy Comission has just received the supplemental Envizonmental Peport from the Constmers Power Coupany.
