SIMULATOR TRAINING PROGRAM My letter of 3/31/81 agreed that the Special Low Power Test Program need not be performed on Sequoyah Unit No. 2 since most of the Sequoyah Unit 2 operators participated in the SLPT program and other operators would receive simulator training on natural circulation.

We are concerned however, that the model used.for the simulator training does not duplicate actual plant parameters LdurtTfftertain transients,

-:e For example during a visit to your simulator facility, representatives of NRC observed a characteristic of the Sequoyah sim'ulator model that did~

not appear to be consistent with Unit 1 test results.

Specifically, during a 10% steam line break procedure (Procedure E01-2), in which RCP's.__

were tripped on indication of high bearing temperatures, a reverse delta-T effect occurred indicative of reverse flow by natural circulation.

It is requested that you provide additional information to support and verify the accuracy of your model, and to assure that the training received on the simulator is equivalent to that received from actual tests including the SLPT.
