Restart of Core Spray Systems

Dear Mr. Denton:

This letter will document CG&E's intention to have the HPCS restart logic modified to provide for automatic restart not with standing the continuing existence of an initiation signal (ie high drywell pressure).

This modification will be consistent with that discussed in Section L.34.13 of the LaSalle FSAR as a discretionary modification proposed by the BWR Owners Group. The modification will be implemented on the schedule defined in NUREG-0737; ie, at the next refueling outage following staff approval of the design, unless this outage is' scheduled within 6 months of the approval date. Zimmers NUREG-0737 item II K.3.21 will be modified to reflect this comitment and be fonnally documented as Appendix L in the May revision to the FSAR.

Very truly yours, The Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company M#N a vi , g, James D. Flynn
