20555 Reactor Building Separation Analysis Shoreham Nuclear Power Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50/322

Dear Mr. Denton:

By letter dated December 30, 1980 (SNRC-526), Long Island Light-ing Company submitted the Shoreham preliminary REACTOR BUILDING SEPARATION ANALYSIS REPORT, which provided the analysis results for the Reactor Building primary containment drywell area and elevation 8' of the secondary containment.

Analysis results covering the remaining levels within the secondary containmel.t were in the final stages of completion and were not available at that time.

The preliminary report was submitted in this manner in order to afford your staff the opportunity for a preview in preparation for today's meeting on the subject.

l Submitted herewith are six (6) copies of the Shoreham REACTOR l

BUILDING SEPARATION ANALYSIS REPORT, which provides a description l

of the analysis performed and includes the completed analysis results for the primary and secondary containments.

l This analysis will be an ongoing effort which will terminate l

upon completion of the installation of all Class IE cables and associated equipment.

At that time, an "as-built" review will be performed to ensure the validity of the inputs to the analysis, as well as to check the engineering and construction efforts.
