O APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Yankee Atomic Electric Company Docket No. 50-29 Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted from August 8 to September 15, 1980, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with the conditions of your NRC Facility License No. DPR-3, as indicated below.
This item is an infraction.
Technical Specification 6.12, "High Radiation Area," states in part
"...each high radiation area in which the intensity of radiation is 1000 mrem /hr or less shall be barricaded and conspicuously posted as a high radiation area and entrance thereto shall be controlled by requiring issuance of a Radiation Work Permit."
Contrary to the above, on September 3, 1980, the Shutdown Cooling Heat Exchanger Room, a high radiation area in which the intensity of radiation was 300 mrem /hr in the general area, was found to be not barricaded.
