On May 9,1980, Mr. T. D. Geib of Public Service. Company of Indiana, Inc. (PSI) notified yoar office of a potentially reportable item as required by 10 CFR 50.55(e) . This item, which portains to the i
operation of centrifugal charging purps during a high energy line rupture, was described in an interim report to your office on
- June 2, 1980.
Westinghouse analyzed this problem and recommended that some plant modification be made. As planned, Westinghouse undertook an evaluation of potential modifications in order to determine the best alternative.
To date, Westinghouse has not yet completed this evaluation or selected a plant modification. PSI will advise your office of what action will be taken in a final report on or before February 1, l'381. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
