Proposed Change No. 45 would permit p4 the installation of stainless steel spacer tubes in the channels i? =
provided in the reactor fuel assemblies for the in-core instrumen-

L We have reviewed Proposed Change No. 45 and have found that it

does not present significant hazards considerations not described or implicit in the hazards summary report, and that there is ta reasonable assurance that the health and safety of the public will
' not be endangered.
A copy of our related hazards analysis is enclosed.
In view of the foregoing, Yankee Atomic Electric Com-pany is hereby authorized to install the stainless steel spacer tubes in accordance with the Company's request dated September 4, 1963, entitled Proposed Change No. 45.
