THIRD INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency Manufacturer's valve drawings which include pertinent engineering data used in piping analysis and other design calculations cannot be readily retrieved through any TVA cocumentation system as required by 10CFR50, Appendix B.

Proper identific.ation of valves should be maintained by part number, serial number, or other appropriate means en the valve bodies and cross-referenced on all associated drawings and permanent records. This identification is used for the retrieval of records and is designed to prevent the use of incerrect parts and components in piping systems.

Corrective Action TVA is comparing data (weight, length, and center of gravity) on manufacturer's valve drawings to those used in piping analyses.

Manufacturer's general catalogs are being used to obtain valve data for drawings which cannot be obtained because they do not exist (primarily for valves 2 inches or smaller) or cannot be located.

Analyses in which discrepancies are found are being reevaluated to determine if support changes will be required. This action is part of the Bulletin 79-14 effort and is discussed in more detail in the final report pertaining to this bulletin for SQNSWP8023 The complete field walkdown, reanalysis, and rework of piping and supports will be completed before fuel loading. Any rework not complete by fuel loading will be justified on a case-by-casa basis. This will ensure the seismic integrity of safety-ralated piping systece. TVA is still evaluating what action is required to develop a better documentation system.
