FACILITY STARJS:
During this period, the reactor plant remained in the " moth-balled plant" status.
II.
SEMI-AN;IUAL RADIATION SURVEYS:
Semi-annual radiatica surveys were made in accordance with the Technical Specifications. No spread of contamination or increased radiation Icvels were found.
III. SEMI-ANNUAL ENVIPONMENTAL SAMPLE ANALYSIS:
Semi-annual water and sediment sampics adjacent to the ship were taken and
.tnaly::ed. No increased radioactivity above background was found.
IV.
QUARTERLY INTRUSION ALARM CHECKS:
The intrusion and controlled radiation area alarms were tested quarterly; all systems operated as required. The condition and numbers on the seals to control area access doors were inspected and found intact.
V.
RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL REMOVED FROM VIE FACILITY:

VI.
FACILIW MAINTENANCE PERFORMED:
No work involving radioactive components of the facility was performed 1
during this reporting period. During this reporting period, the reduction gears were removed from the gear casings of the SAVANNell for use on a U.S.
Naval Military Sealift Command vessel.
A personnel radiation monitoring program was established by:

Radiation Safety Services-P. O. Box 865 Inno, South Carolina 29063 A licalth Physics monitoring program was also established to assure no radioactive pipes were cut open, or that any contamination would be released during work required to remove the gears. The program was executed by qualified Bra:well Shipyard employees.
There wre no personnel exposures and there were no releases of radioactivity contamination.
VII. ABNORMAL BOUNDARY DEGRADATION None noted during inspections in this reporting period.
