.p ENCLOSURE SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SQRD-50-328/81-07 10 CFR 50.55(e)

FINAL REPORT Description of Deficiency During the review of qualification records for electrical equipment required by NUREG-0588, three solenoid valves in the containment vacuum relief system were determined to be not qualified for the calculated accident environment to which they would be exposed in the-containment annulus. The valves are model No. HT83316B15 and are manufactured by Automatic Switun Company (ASCO). The postulated accident environment is noted below:

Temperature: 150 F Pressure: ATM -

Relative Humidity: 100%

Radiation: 7x107 rads Safety Implications Failure of these solenoids to function properly in the event of an accident cauld possibly result in the inability of the contain=ent vacuum relief system to perform its intended safety function, thereby endangering the health and safety of the public.

Corrective Action TVA will replace the subject ASCO solenoids with valves that are qualified for the calculated accident environment (Valcor Model 70900-301). This work will be accomplished approximately one month before fuel loading of unit 2.
