South Texas Project Units 1&2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Second Interim Report Concerning Environmental Qualification of Electrical Equipment Associated with the Auxiliary Feedwater Pumps On August 25, 1980, in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e), Houston Lighting

& Power Company notified your office of an item concerning environmental qualification of electrica' equipment associated with the auxiliary feedwater ppmos. The following is a itatus update of information concerning activities reiating to the subject iten.

An analytical model for tne Isolation Valve Cubicle (IVC) structure which houses the subject electrical equipment has been developed. The analysis of the IVC structure for post accident temperature and pressure profiles is being perfonned.

Class IE electrical equipment whose qualification status may be affected by the IVC analysis has been identified. The results of the analysis will be incorporated into appropriate design documents and equipment qualification specifications will be revised accordingly.
