Dear Mr. Grier:
Subject:
Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 IE Bulletin 80-21 In response to IE Bulletin 80-21 entitled " Valve Yokes Supplied by Malcolm Foundry Company, Inc." we have contacted the Anchor Darling Valve Company and confirmed with them that no Malcolm Foundry parts were supplied in any Anchor Darling valves utilized at the Oyster Creek Station.
Currently, we are in the process of contacting each of our valve j
suppliers individually to confirm our information indicating that no other i
valves utilized at Oyster Creek have any parts supplied by Malcolm Foundry.
In the event that we should discover any valves in safety related systems containing Malcolm Foundry parts, we will initiate those actions described in items 2 and 3 of the bulletin and forward the required report to your office. We expect to complete our confirmation efforts by March 16, 1981.
As requested, we estimate that approximately 500 manhours will be expended to obtain the necessary information from various valve manufactur-ers.
Very trul y rs, o
Yo Ivan R. Finfr k,.
