Dear Mr. Keppler:
On December 8,1980, Mr. T. D. Geib of Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc. (PSI) notified your office of a potentially reportable
( item as required by 10 CFR 50.55(e). During receipt inspection, PSI l
Quality Assurance personnel were unable to verify using construction records that certain pipe sleeves had been installed in their designated l locations. This concern pertained to a group of piping subassembly and partial component support sleeves which were both safety and non-safety related and of various materials.
PSI is conducting further investigation of available construction records in an effort to establish the traceability of the sleeves in question.
This investigation will be augmented as necessary by on-site inspection of installed sleeves and an engineering evaluation to determine their acceptability.
l This letter is intended to fulfill the requirements of an interim report as defined in 10 CFR 50.55(e) . PSI will complete its investigation of this matter and file a final report on or before June 1,1981.
