In.the January 7,1974 letter, you stated that you vill comply with i

ASSI Standard N18.17, " Industrial Security for Nuclear Power Plants",

i and r.ote some additional commitments in areas identified in Regulatory i

Guide 1.17.

On review of your submittals, however, we have found that i

they do not provide sufficient infor=ation to per=it us to evaluate l

conformance of the industrial security program for the Dresden and Quad-Cities Stations to Regulatory Guide 1.17.

Ue request, therefore, that you sub=it detailed descriptions of the

proposed induatrial security plans for the Dresden and Quad-Citien l

S ta tions. A separate description should be submitted for each station.

An exargle of the detail required is that submitted by you on the Zion Docket; i.e.,

the revised Zion Station Industrial Security Plan dated Decerlier 24, 1973, and that which is being requested in an additional infornation request on the Zion Security Plan being tranc-citted to you by a separate letter. It is our position that each of these plans should conform to the Regulatory position stated in-

While ve are unable to approve implementation of plans which we have had no opportunity to evaluate, the co itments made in your letter of January 7,1974, appear to be generally consistent with the Regulatory objectives and we urge that you proceed to f cplement thcu as soon as practicable. In this regard, we request that you include the following schedule information in your submittal; y

1.

Provide a listing of any f eatures of your security plan i

which will not be implemented by April 15, 1974.

For each feature identified in 1 above, provide the date

by which implementation can be expected.

If the i=plementation date for any feature identified in 1 and 2 above is June 15, 1974, or later, describe what interi= ceasures you will take to assure a conparable degree of security.

All of the remaining portions of the security plan not identified above are assumed to be implemented on or before April 15.

I Your reply should request that the material submitted be withheld from j

public disclosure pursuant to Section 2.790 of 10 CFR Part 2.

One original and two copies of your submittal are required for our review

within 30 days of the date of this letter.
