Dear Dr. Sowder:
This is to inform you that Florida Power Corporation, St. Petersburg, g Florida, has submitted un application for construction permits and operating licenses for two pressurized water nuclear reactors desig-n...a nated as crystal River Units 3 & 4 Nuclear Generating Plant. The proposed facilities will be located on the Corporation's site on the Gulf of Mexico, 70 miles north of Tampa and about 7-1/2 miles north-west of Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida. The proposed reactors are each designed for initial operation at approximately 2452 megawatts thermal with a gross electrical output of approximately 855 megawatts. The applicant anticipates the two facilities will be completed and - ready for_ consercial service in April 1972 and in 1974, respectively.
