g This refers to your request dated May 8, 1961 for AEC authorization to make Proposed Change No. 6 in your f acility pursuant to paragraph 3.A. of License No. DPR-3, as amended.
We have reviewed the proposed addition of a scram initiation circuit which would provide a reactor scram in the event of high water level in the pressurizer and have found that operation, as proposed, does not present significant hazards considerations not described or implicit in the license application as amended to January 12, 1961, and there is reasonable assurance that the health and safety of the public will not be endangered by operation of the facility as pro-posed.
A copy of our analysis of the operation of the facility with the scram circuit described is attached hereto.
In view of the foregoing, authorization is hereby granted to Yankee Atomic Electric Company to install an additional scram initiation circuit which will provide a reactor scram in the. event of high i-water level in the pressurizer in accord mce with Yankee's Proposed l '~
