l Dear Sirs We have reviewed your letter, Reference 2, requesting additional i
information on our proposed revision to the Technical Specifications cubmitted for your review January 3, 1974. Our review indicates that certain questiona can only be answered subsequent to an analysis for Core XII to be inserted this fall. Therefore, questions 1 and 5 of Enclosure I cannot be answered until our Core XII submittal, now scheduled for August 1, 1975, has been approved. We expect to be able to prepare a response for the remaining questions of Enclosure I by September 1, 1975.
The body of the letter requests we submit updated replacement pages for the Proposed Technical Specifications. This we will do by September 1, 1975 under a cover letter, not an an anendment to our application.
You also rcquest we list those requirements in the existing Technical Specifications that we have either modified or omitted from the proposed new format Technical Specifications.
In our preparation of the new format, we incorporated the requirements of the existing Technical Specifications as they applied in the new format.
In some cases existing requirements now appear in other sections of the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) and were therefore not incorporated in the new Technical Specifications, Section 16.
No additional analysis or justification is provided in the documentation, nor is any required. The Technical Specifications stands on its own merits. Adequate justification for each specification is provided in the basis. The new Technical Sp, lfi-cation is consistent with, and incorporates all applicable aspects of, present specifications for pressurized water reactors.
In our preparation of the FSAR we included all items of safety significance.+ hat existed in the FHSR.
