BORON LOSS FROM Ek'R CONTROL BLADES Consumers Power Company's submittal dated January h, 1980 provided the requested information for a21 questions of IE Bulletin No 79-26 entitled, " Boron Loss From Bk'R Control Blades" and its revision 1 dated August 29, 1980. The January h, 1980 submittal provided current B10 depletion information, plans for replacement of 15 core interior blades which vere predicted to have greater than 3h percent deple-tion by the 1980 Refueling outage, verification of shutdown margin, and results of destructive examination of blade Rh9 (most highly exposed blade at EOC 15).
Big Rock Point has recently received 16 new control blades which vill be used to replace all core interior blades at the upcoming 1980 Refueling Outage. The remaining 16 core perifery blades in the Big Rock Point Control Rod Drive System vill not be replaced because they are only used during unit startup and shutdown (ie,remainggout-of-coreduringpoweroperation)whichhasresultedinescen-tially no B depletion to date.
