Dear Dr. Cota:
Just a brief note to confirm our telephone conversation of November 4, 1975 (4:30 p.m.).
We discussed th'e fact the N.R.C. Regulatory Guide 4.2 (Rev. 13 specifies thtt a 30-year plant life be assumed in various studies.
(Ses Iteu d. and Footnote 38 on page 4.2-42, as well as Table 3, page 4.2-51.)
I sta*rd that our Financia' Department uses 28 years, and accordingly our econoaics studies are based on it.
You indicated that NRC would be doing its own studies based on the information we provi.le, that they would be based on 30 years, and that furthermore other assumptions might be different from ours as well. We agreed that in light of this it would be acceptable for us to submit studies in our Environmental Report based on a 28-year plant life.
We will supply you with the information requested in the Regulatory Guide, which will enable you to do your own independent study.
Sincerely yours, Df c...wl ?
