Yankee Rowe Annual Radiological Surveillance Report Yankee Atomic Electric Company began processing environmental samples in its own laboratory during the fourth quarter of 1977. The time required to resolve unforeseen nuclear instrumentation problems and develop radiochemical procedures to meet our quality control criteria has resulted in substantial analytical delay. Additionally, the telecommunication equip-ment necessary for the transfer of data was not available until March and its failure has caused further delays.

Therefore, additional time will be required to edit, analyze and interpret almost 20,000 ceasurements prior to the preparation of a meaning-ful report. We believe that the hasty preparation of a report would be a disservice to the public, who examines these dockets, and an unfortunate compromise of the considerable resources which have been expended to produce this data.

Consequently, the submittal of the annual radiological surveillance report will be delayed until June 1, 1978.
