SUBJECT:
MEETING ON SEQUOYAH INTERIM DISTRIBUTED IGNITION SYSTEM PROGRESS The Sequoyah Unit No.1 full power license requires by January 31,1981 that it be shown the proposed TVA interim control system provides with reasonable assurance protection against breach of containment in the event a substantial quantity of hydrogen is generated.
To this end, TVA submitted a test progras (Volume I 3 II, dated September 2, 1980) that requires our final coments to assure the TVA program meets our needs.
A meeting is scheduled for October 16,1980 (P-ll4 at 9:00 a.m.) to discuss the adequacy of the TVA program. A copy of the TVA program is attached. Also, CSS has proposed the enclosed schedule for the effort which will be discussed at the meeting.
4 Each branch identified above is requested to attend. By this memorandum other branch representatives are invited if they believe they will be involved in the IDIs program for Sequoayh.
