20555 Attention: Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Division of Licensing Mr. Robert A. Clark, Branch Chief

Reference:

(a) License No. DPR-36 (Docket No. 50-309)

(b) USNRC Letter to MYAPC dated April 24, 1978 (c) MYAPC Letter to USNRC dated February 12, 1980 (WMY 80-22)

Dear Sir:

Subject:

Summary of Completed Fire Protection Items The purpose of this letter is to document the completion of the fire protection items delineated in the attached table. During recent conversations with Mr. Requa of your staff (October 8,1980), it became apparent that many fire protection items had been completed unbeknownst to the NRC.

Whereas the NRC had made a site visit following the 1978 refueling, similar confirmation visits were not performed subsequent to the 1980 re fbeling.

To preclude any further confusion in this matter, Maine yankee, at the request of Mr. Requa, confirms that the fire protection items listed in Table 1 have been implemented as detailed in Reference (b).

We trust this -information is satisfactory; however, should you desire further information, please feel free to contact us.

Very truly yours, MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY
