Gentlemen:

By letter of November 1,1974, you informed us of the results of your F.

Acceptance Criteria set forth in 10 CFR Part 50, Section 50.46. You M= 7 indicated, as reflected in your earlier etter of October 25, 1974, that, although you had the results af ethe prs = iminary evaluation, the report of this evaluation would be submitted by November 14, 1974.
Your letter stated that although every effort was made to complete and 4
to submit your evaluation by October.,lly-1874, in accordance with the h
Determination dated August 5,1974 by the Director of Regulation,
{4 modifications to ECCS calculational models to perform the preliminary
- =
cvaluation were more extensive than estimated and entailed more time
- E" in perforcing the calculations. These factors included consideration of the various fuel types in the Dresdca Unit 1 facility. Further
~="
information was sought by the reactor manufacturer as late as October 22, 1974, in order to co=plete the evaluation.
On the basis of your statement as to results of the preliminary evalu-6 ation, you have requested authority to continue operation of Dresden
[
Unit 1 in accordance with the Determination of the Director of Regulation dated Aucu;;t' 5,1974.

Any further action by the AEC in response to your letter of Ibvember 1,1974, will depend upon the results of our review of your submittal.
