and the MCB. Based on subsequent discussions held with the staff Alabama Power Corany was requested to clarify this response to sper ' 'ically address fi e barrier protection between these instruments. The attached revised r'sponse addresses this question.

Pressurizer instrument loops (LI-459C, PT-44C) which were initially routed to the HSD panel through the Control Room have been replaced by dedicated instrument loops (LT-459Z, PT-44Z) which are routed to the HSD panel so that they are electrically independent of and separated from the Control Room and Cable Spreading Room by the equivalent of a 3 hour3.472222e-5 days <br />8.333333e-4 hours <br />4.960317e-6 weeks <br />1.1415e-6 months <br /> fire barrier.
The redundant pressurizer instrument loops (LI-459C, PT-444C) which are provided for Control Room display are separated from the HSD panel area by the equivalent 3 hour3.472222e-5 days <br />8.333333e-4 hours <br />4.960317e-6 weeks <br />1.1415e-6 months <br /> fire barrier.

Steam Generator wide range water level instrument loops which were initially routed through the Control Room to the HSD panel have been routed to the HSD panel for indication first, and then an electrically isolated output signal is provided to the USSS process cabinets for Control Room display (LI-477,487,497).
Redundant Steam Generator narrow range water level instrument loops (LI474, 475, 476, 484, 486, 486, 494, 495, 496) are pro-vided for Control Room display which are electrically independent of and separated from the HSD panel area by the equivalent of a 3 hour3.472222e-5 days <br />8.333333e-4 hours <br />4.960317e-6 weeks <br />1.1415e-6 months <br /> barrier.

Charging Line Flow instrument loop (FI-122) is not needed to maintain Hot Shutdown or to go to Cold' Shutdown.

Reactor Coolant System wide range temperature (hot leg) instrument loop (TE-413) has been routed to the HSD panel for indication first, and then an electrically isolated output signal is provided to the NSSS Process Cabinets.
Redundant instrument loops (TE4118, 412A & B) are provided for Controi Room display which are electrically independent of and separated from the HSD Panel area by the equivalent of a 3 hour3.472222e-5 days <br />8.333333e-4 hours <br />4.960317e-6 weeks <br />1.1415e-6 months <br /> fire barrier.
