Narrative

Report for ' LER 50-366/1980-131.

On September 9,1980, while -the reactor was; starting up'following anLunplanned

. shutdown, 2B31-N018A, switch #2, Reactor Shutdown Cooling Mode Instrument, was

. found to actuate at 162 psig increasing while performing HNP-2-3102, Reactor

- High Pressure Shutdown Cooling Mode Instrument Functional Test and Calibration.

- Tech Specs Section 3.3.2-2, item 6b', requires actuation.at 5135 +25 psig head -

correction.

Switch #1 actuated in tolerance and redundant switch 2831-N018B actuated in' tolerance.

Plant operation was not affected and the.public health I

and safety was not affected.

ThisLis a repetitive event as last reported on

~ Reportable Occurrence Report No. ' 50-366/1980-121.

The cause o'f this event was attributed to setpoint drift.

The switch was immediately recalibrated and functionally tested successfully.
