August 13, 1980 Mr. G. P. Francis 4733 Portland Road, N.E., Box 6 Salem, Oregon 97303 Dear Mr. Francia Your August 6 letter to Chairman Ahearne has been referred to this office for reply.
As you may know, the Commission has directed that Unit 1 at the Three bile Nuclear Power Station be kept in a shutdown conftitiori pending further order of the Commission.
To give the commission a basis for such a future action, a public hearing is being conducted.
The evidentiary phase of this hearing has not started and it certainly will not be completed until sometime next year <
Accordingly, I do not expect the Commission to,take any action until it has received and reviewed the record of that proceeding.
