Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

In response to your letter of July 31, 1980, transmitting lE Bulletin 80-19, Carolina Power & Light Company submits the following response for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant (BSEP).

A thorough review has determined that mercury-wetted relays are not used in the reactor protection system at BSEP. The manpower expended for this review and for the required report preparation was approximately eight manhours.

We trust that this satisfies the request of IE Bulletin 80-19.
