Dear Mr. Keppler:
- Illinois Power Company has completed certain modifications to its Clinton Power Station, Unit 1.
General Electric Company was authorized to perform this work which was subcontracted to Baldwin Associates.
This notification is in accordance with Subarticle j, WA-1400,Section XI, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
The completed modifications are as follows:
The Recirculation Discharge Block Valves were modified by removing couplings and installing plugs associated with the elimination of the bypass valve and piping, as recommended by General Electric Company to eliminate a potential intergranular stress corrosion cracking problem.
The above work was accomplished in accordance with the 1974 Edition, Summer 1975 Addendc., requirements of Section XI, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel. Code.
