@ 2[ ISE DOCKET NO. 50-245 Northeast Nuclear Energy Company I

ATTN: Mr. W. G. Counsil Vice President P. O. Box 270 Hartford, Connecticut 06101 Gentlemen:

We have received a copy of your letter dated April 9,1980, and a copy of your supplemental letter dated June 10 requesting relief from certain of the requirements of the Inservice Inspection and Testing Program required by 10 CFR 50.55a for Millstone Unit No.1 (License No. OPR-21). These letters were submitted to the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (0NRR) for review, but did not include a fee determination and fee pursuant to 10 CFR 170.12(c}

and 170.22. Plant specific reviews and approvals such as the one requested in your letters are assessed fees in the same manner as applications for license amendments.

Based on information provided by the ONRR staff as a result of a preliminary review of your letters, it has been determined that they involve consideration of a single safety issue. On this basis, a Class III fee of $4,000 is required and should be remitted to this office promptly.

If the final review of your letters by the ONRR staff reveals that this fee is incorrect, an adjustment will be made.

Sincerely, 4
