This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. E. Kohler of this

office on August 23-26, 1977, of activities at Dresden Nuclear Power

Station, Unit 1, authorized by NRC Operating License No. DPR-2 and

to the discussion of our findings with Mr. Shelton at the conclusion

The enclosed copy of our inspection' report identifies areas examined

during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted

of a selective examination of procedures and representative records,

obs erva tions , and.intervieus with personnel.

No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified

during the course of this inspection.

During the performance of this inspection, there were certain areas

pertaining to containnent integrity where we need additional informa-

tion:

Describe the steps you have taken or plan to take to eliminate
