Dear Mr. Youngblood:

Enclosed for your use is the Commonwealth Edison

" Preliminary Assessment human Factors Review of the LaSalle Cour..y Station Control Room (29 September 1980)". This report was prepared to satisfy the requirement of Task I.D.1 in NUREG-0694 and was provided in draft form to your staff on September 8, 1980.

The NRC Human Factors Branch conducteo an on-site partial review of the LaSalle County Station Unit 1 control room design and operation on September 15-19, 1980. A separate review of the computer will be conducted on September 29-30, 1980. The on-site review last week, included comments from the NRC on a draf t of the enclosed report. Where appropriate, NRC comments have been included. It is our understanding that the NRC review team did not identify any significant safety concerns that would delay the fuel loading of LaSalle County Unit 1.

A meeting has been tentatively scheduled, by the NRC review team for October 15, 1980 to oiscuss the NRC recommendations on the LaSalle County control room. It is our understanding that we will receive the team inspection report prior to that meeting.
