This letter pertains to the Limerick Nuclear Plant being Pa. on the?Schuylkill River.
Your built below Pottstownlake to grant?
commission made a mis P. E. a permit to construct a nuke plant so close to a metropolitan area, in fact it's in my back yard, 20 miles from my home.
I didn't want it there, nor did so many other people who opposed the project.
It seems that it doesn't matter to our government what the people want.
It's getting stuck down our throats just like some other projects, namely #hitman Park in South Phila.
I hear all this talk about safety.
Sure, I know there will be all kinds of precautions, but can P. E. guarantee they will be fail safe?
Where do we people go and hide if there is an accident?
I don't think our basements or 61osets would be adequate.
There is not even a feasible evacuation plan to move millions of people to a safe location.
Nobody is equipped to handle a nuclear accident of any proportion; this was proven at Three Mile Island.
People didn't know what to do.
The NRC didn't know?.*what to do,nor did anybody else who had authority.
Granted, P. E. was not given a license until all factors are taken into consideration, But do you think for one minute they won't be granted a license after close to 2 million dollars or more is invested in the plant?
There are many alternatives for generating power in a safe manner, such as coal, the sun, the wind, synthetic fuels.
I don't think enough is known about the hazzards of nuclear power.
Everybody seems to have a different opinion.
If you ask me, these people know as much about it as I do, which I know is dangerous.
I can nnly come to one conclusion, that the big want to get bigger.
They are never satisfied.
These people don't care about you or me.
Their money talks.
I call it one word--
GREED!
I am asking you people to use the brains God gave you and don't grant P. E.a nuclear power license unless they change their mode of generation, that is with an alternative fuel.
